ID x again..( a famous company:) )

'X' was started in San Francisco, California, in 1977 by Tufts University and Stanford Graduate School of Business alumnus Roy Raymond, who felt embarrassed trying to purchase underwear for his wife in a department store environment. The stores were meant to create a comfortable environment for men, with wood-paneled walls, Victorian details and helpful sales staff. 'X' turned out to be a tremendous success and Raymond later sold the company to the firm 'The Limited' for $4billion!!!..
Then.. he went on to start a new enterprise which failed resulting in his suicide(aged 42) ,jumping off the golden gate bridge!               Just ID X created by Mr Roy Raymond.

can ya ID mr X?

Jacob Davis was a tailor who frequently purchased bolts of cloth made from hemp from X.'s wholesale house. After one of Davis' customers kept purchasing cloth to reinforce torn pants, he had an idea to use copper rivets to reinforce the points of strain, such as on the pocket corners and at the base of the button fly. Davis did not have the required money to purchase a patent, so he wrote to X suggesting that they go into business together. After X accepted Jacob's offer, on May 20, 1873, the two men received U.S. Patent 139,121 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patented rivet was later incorporated into the company's design and advertisements.
